The rules After Watch Supernatural investigators follow on every residential and commercial investigation, covering conduct, property respect, safety, evidence collection, EVP sessions, and client relations.
We publish this because you are entitled to know how people will behave inside your home or your business before you invite them in. Every investigator agrees to it. Our code of ethics sits underneath it.
Professional Conduct
- Treat all clients, family members, employees, and property owners with respect.
- Remain objective and avoid making claims that cannot be supported by evidence.
- Do not exaggerate findings or create activity for entertainment purposes.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client information, addresses, and personal experiences.
- Dress appropriately and professionally.
Property Respect
- Obtain permission before entering any room, building, or restricted area.
- Do not move, open, or handle personal belongings without permission.
- Leave the property exactly as it was found.
- Report any accidental damage immediately.
- No smoking, alcohol, or recreational drug use during investigations.
Safety First
- Conduct a safety walkthrough before beginning.
- Identify exits, trip hazards, unstable flooring, and restricted areas.
- Never investigate alone. Use a buddy system whenever possible.
- Carry a flashlight and maintain communication with team members.
- Follow all building safety rules and emergency procedures.
Evidence Collection
- Document the time and location of all reported activity.
- Attempt to identify normal explanations before labeling anything paranormal.
- Record environmental factors such as weather, HVAC systems, appliances, and nearby traffic.
- Keep detailed investigation logs.
- Preserve original audio, video, and photographic files.
During EVP and Spirit Communication Sessions
- Ask clear, respectful questions.
- Allow sufficient silence after each question.
- Avoid leading questions that suggest answers.
- Never provoke, insult, threaten, or challenge alleged entities.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.

Team Communication
- Announce all movements during recording sessions.
- Call out noises you create, such as coughing, footsteps, or equipment handling.
- Keep unnecessary conversations to a minimum.
- Use radios or designated communication methods when separated.
Residential Investigation Etiquette
- Be mindful that clients may be frightened or emotionally invested.
- Avoid discussing theories in front of clients until evidence review is complete.
- Never diagnose hauntings, possessions, curses, or demonic activity.
- Do not offer religious or spiritual services unless specifically qualified and requested.
Commercial Property Etiquette
- Coordinate with management regarding operational hours and restricted areas.
- Avoid disrupting business operations.
- Protect sensitive company information and employee privacy.
- Follow all workplace safety requirements.
Evidence Review Standards
- Seek multiple explanations for every anomaly.
- Require corroboration whenever possible.
- Clearly label evidence as Explained, Unexplained, Potentially Paranormal, or Inconclusive.
- Avoid definitive conclusions without strong supporting evidence.
Client Relations
- Provide honest findings regardless of the outcome.
- Never fabricate evidence.
- Explain limitations of paranormal investigation methods.
- Deliver reports professionally and respectfully.
